| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Dorothy Hunter, who passed away on April |
| 4 |
| 2, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was born on March 16, 1929; her |
| 6 |
| parents were Eunice Lacy and Wallace Dandridge; she also had |
| 7 |
| another father, Fred Gatlin, who later married her mother; she |
| 8 |
| married Marvin Jerome Hunter on October 9, 1945; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter completed elementary school and |
| 10 |
| high school in Memphis, Tennessee; she later moved to Chicago; |
| 11 |
| in 1953, she joined the Fellowship M.B. Church under the |
| 12 |
| leadership of Reverend Clay Evans; she then returned to |
| 13 |
| Memphis, where she stayed until she fell ill and returned to |
| 14 |
| Chicago, staying there until her passing; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter was preceded in death by her |
| 16 |
| parents; her husband; her children, Elaine (Hunter) Malcome and |
| 17 |
| Maurice Hunter; her grandson, Randall Malcome; and her |
| 18 |
| great-grandson, Andre (Mann) Greene; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Hunter is survived by her sons, Earl |
| 20 |
| Jerome Dandridge, Marvin Jerome Hunter, and Greg Hunter; her |
| 21 |
| daughters, Anita (Hunter) Barber and Vickie Lynn Jones; her 16 |
