| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Sam Suitca, who passed away on April 2, |
4 |
| 2009; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca was born in and was a lifelong resident |
6 |
| of Joliet; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca served his country with pride and |
8 |
| distinction during World War II and the Korean Conflict as a |
9 |
| member of the United States Army; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca was retired from Troutwine Beverage |
11 |
| Co., Budweiser, Independent Oil Co., Sumbaurn Cycle, |
12 |
| Goldblatt's, and United Liquor & Beverage Co.; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca was a member of St. George Serbian |
14 |
| Orthodox Church, the S.S.S. Mita Topalovich choir, the Joliet |
15 |
| Noon Lions Club, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #300, Old |
16 |
| Timers Baseball, Cantigny Post V.F.W. #367, the Serbian |
17 |
| National Federation Lodge #97, and the S.S.S. Karageorge Choir |
18 |
| of Merrillville, Indiana; he also held various board positions |
19 |
| on the Serbian Orthodox Choral Association; St. Sava Serbian |
20 |
| Orthodox Church of Joliet; St. George Serbian Orthodox Church |
21 |
| of Joliet, and the Joliet Noon Lion's Club; and

| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca enjoyed woodworking and was an |

| instructor for the Adult Woodworking/Grandfather Clock class |

| at J.T. Central Campus; and |

| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca was preceded in death by his parents, |
5 |
| Marco and Milka (Grbich) Krivokucha Suitca; his sister, Sophie |
6 |
| (John) Hrehor; and his brothers, Steven (Tillie) and George |
7 |
| Suitca; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Sam Suitca is survived by his loving wife, Mary |
9 |
| Lou (Drobac) Suitca; his children, Cheryl (William) Ferguson, |
10 |
| Cathy L. (Dr. Thomas A.) Krupko, and Samuel R. (Barbara) |

| Suitca; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Kodrick, |
12 |
| Rachel Ferguson, Catherine (Josh) White, Thomas, Amy, Allison, |

| James, and Daniel Krupko, and Samuel, Daniel, and Robert |

| Suitca; his brother-in-law, Robert R. (Phyllis-deceased) |

| Drobac; his maternal aunt, Sophie (George-deceased) Rotkvich; |

| his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and |
