| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Arnie Frank Bryant; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, He was born in Hartford, Alabama, the oldest of |
| 5 |
| five children born to Frank and Rosie Anderson; he was raised |
| 6 |
| in Newark, New Jersey, Chicago, and Maywood; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Farragut and Proviso East High |
| 8 |
| Schools; he joined the United States Army in 1977 and remained |
| 9 |
| on active duty until 1997; he accepted Christ as his Savior at |
| 10 |
| an early age at Proviso Missionary Baptist Church under Bishop |
| 11 |
| Claude Porter; he was a member of New Horizon Missionary |
| 12 |
| Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Carl Hopson at |
| 13 |
| the time of his passing; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was a caring and compassionate man who loved |
| 15 |
| his family and fellow man; he was the President of the Proviso |
| 16 |
| Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of |
| 17 |
| Colored People (NAACP) for many years and a Proviso Township |
| 18 |
| Trustee; he was also President of the Bellwood Library Board; |
| 19 |
| and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, he worked in law enforcement for twenty years; he |
| 21 |
| was most recently employed as Deputy Chief of the Records |
