SENATE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Leonard Junior Boston of Waggoner, who 
4
passed away on May 19, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born on April 28, 1922, in rural Waggoner, 
6
the son of Leonard Bland & Viva (Fite) Boston; he married Freda 
7
Mae Ruyle on May 22, 1943 in Girard; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, He was a farmer and Pitman Township Road 
9
Commissioner for 26 years; he was a member of Waggoner 
10
Christian Church; he was also  Pitman Township Clerk and a 
11
Democratic Precinct Committeeman; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, During Irish Days 2008, he was the recipient along 
13
with his wife, Mrs. Boston, of Citizen of the Year; in his 
14
spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, 
15
and gardening; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his 
17
brother, Ralph Boston; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Leonard Boston is survived by his wife, Freda; his 
19
son, Gary (Liz) Boston; his daughter, Sharon (Richard) Lyons; 
20
his sister, Nancy (Jim) Guyer; his grandchildren, Chris (Tim)

Fowler, Jenny (Randy) McBeath, Heather (Phillip) Sirota, and 
2
Amy Boston; his stepgrandson, Dave (Amy) Wallace; his four 
3
great-granddaughters; his great-grandson; his

step-great-granddaughter; and his three step-great-grandsons;

therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
7
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
8
his family and friends, the passing of Leonard Boston; and be 
9
it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to the family of Leonard Boston as a symbol of our 
12
sincere sympathy.
