| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of
Donna M. Wolsfelt of Montgomery, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 12, 2009; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt was born on March 29, 1933 in | ||||||
6 | Aurora; she was the daughter of the late Donald and Eleanor | ||||||
7 | (Osmondson) Kline; she married Don Wolsfelt on May 1, 1954 and | ||||||
8 | they spent the next 55 happy years of their lives together; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt graduated from East Aurora High | ||||||
10 | School in 1951; she was very active in her school's musicals, | ||||||
11 | playing the lead for two years; in 1954, she graduated from the | ||||||
12 | American College of Radiology with a degree as an x-ray | ||||||
13 | technician; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt worked for many years at Copley | ||||||
15 | Hospital as an x-ray technician; she also helped operate her | ||||||
16 | family business, Wolsfelt's Floral Shop; in 1972, she realized | ||||||
17 | a life-long dream and opened Wolsfelt's Victorian Bridals, | ||||||
18 | which became the elite bridal salon in northern Illinois; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt was the recipient of numerous | ||||||
20 | awards over the years; she was most proud, however, when she | ||||||
21 | and her husband were honored at the Field Museum in Chicago |

1 | with the prestigious DEBI award as the Outstanding Bridal | ||||||
2 | Retailer of the Year; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Donna was a life-long member of First Presbyterian | ||||||
4 | Church; she was also active in the Aurora Women's Club for many | ||||||
5 | years, as well as many organizations associated with the bridal | ||||||
6 | industry; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt loved the family's golden | ||||||
8 | retrievers and enjoyed watching her horses compete in dressage | ||||||
9 | competitions; she also enjoyed spending time with family, | ||||||
10 | especially the summers together at their lake house in | ||||||
11 | Wisconsin; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt was preceded in death by her | ||||||
13 | parents and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and | ||||||
14 | Cynthia Wolsfelt; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Donna Wolsfelt is survived by her loving husband, | ||||||
16 | Don; her children, Kevin (Stephanie) Wolsfelt, Vicki Wolsfelt | ||||||
17 | and her fiance, Gary Rada, and Dawn Wolsfelt; her special | ||||||
18 | cousin, Debbie Thurow; and many other cousins and close family | ||||||
19 | friends; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |

1 | her family and friends, the passing of Donna M. Wolsfelt; and | ||||||
2 | be it further
| ||||||
3 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
4 | presented to the family of Donna Wolsfelt as an expression of | ||||||
5 | our sympathy.
