SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of William "Skip" Krumeich of Edwardsville,
4 who passed away on May 27, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on August 11, 1926, in Glen Carbon,
6 the son of the late Peter and Lena Weiler Krumeich; he married
7 Fern E. Wood Krumeich on February 11, 1950, at the First
8 Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He retired in 1988 from Illinois Power Company
10 after 41 years of dedicated service as a gas service man; he
11 proudly served his country during World War II in the United
12 States Navy; he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church,
13 American Legion Post #199, and the Last Mans Club Post No. 199,
14 all of Edwardsville; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He served as a board member emeritus for the
16 Epilepsy Association of Southwestern Illinois and was
17 appointed by past Governor James Thompson to the Governor's
18 Board on Epilepsy; he was a former member of the Edwardsville
19 Volunteer Fire Department, former member of the Edwardsville
20 Township Democratic Club, and served 14 years as a Madison
21 County Board Member; and

1     WHEREAS, He enjoyed his days of coaching little league
2 baseball and church basketball; he will be remembered for his
3 devotion to his community and the love to his family and
4 friends; and
 
5     WHEREAS, In addition to his beloved parents, he was
6 preceded in death by his sister, Leona O'Hare; and his brother,
7 Louis Krumeich; and
 
8     WHEREAS, William "Skip" Krumeich is survived by his beloved
9 wife of 59 years, Fern; his daughter, Karen Krumeich Blind and
10 husband, Roger; his sons, Gary Krumeich and wife, Carol, and
11 Kenny Krumeich; his grandsons, Matt Blind and wife, Liz, Jeff
12 Blind and wife, Megan, Andy Krumeich, and Garrett Krumeich; his
13 great-grandchildren, Evan and Lydia Blind; his sister, Lorena
14 Krumeich; his nieces, nephews, other extended family and
15 friends; therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
17 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18 his family and friends, the passing of William "Skip" Krumeich;
19 and be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to the family of William "Skip" Krumeich as a symbol
22 of our sincere sympathy.
