| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Elmer A. Dagenais of Naperville, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on May 7, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Elmer A. Dagenais was born in Naperville, grew up |
| 6 |
| in both Naperville and Lisle, and graduated from Naperville |
| 7 |
| High School; in 1939, he married his wife of 59 years, Johanna, |
| 8 |
| who passed away ten years ago; he married his second wife, |
| 9 |
| Marilyn, in 2001; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He began working with the Kroehler Manufacturing |
| 11 |
| Company in the mailroom at the age of 15 and retired in 1978 as |
| 12 |
| the executive vice president, but remained with the company as |
| 13 |
| a consultant for two years; and |
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, From 1945 to 1946, he served with the United |
| 15 |
| States Army Air Forces in the Pacific theater during World Ward |
| 16 |
| II; after his discharge, he returned to work with Kroehler |
| 17 |
| Manufacturing Company, where over the next 30 years he worked |
| 18 |
| for the product control and traffic departments, moving with |
| 19 |
| his family at various points to help manage its manufacturing |
| 20 |
| plants in New York and California; during his career with |
| 21 |
| Kroehler, Mr. Dagenais served on the board of trustees of |
| 22 |
| Naperville National Bank, Firststar Bank in Naperville, and |
