| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Roger A. Baxter of Peoria, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on June 2, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born August 23, 1956 in Peoria, the son of |
| 6 |
| Phillip C. and Shirley A. (Hinthorn) Baxter; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He worked at Great Plains Gas Company for over 20 |
| 8 |
| years and then at Ulrich Chemical Company; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Marines |
| 10 |
| Corps Reserve and a board member of the Fraternal Order of |
| 11 |
| Eagles in Peoria; he was an avid fan of NASCAR and the St. |
| 12 |
| Louis Cardinals; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Phillip |
| 14 |
| Baxter; his cousin, Colleen Lentz; and his grandparents; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Roger Baxter is survived by his mother, Shirley |
| 16 |
| Baxter; his brother, James Baxter (niece, Angie and nephew, |
| 17 |
| Jimmy); his sisters, Cindy (Bill) Halstead (nephew, Cody and |
| 18 |
| niece, Carly), Sherry (Nate) Miller (nieces, Brianna and |
| 19 |
| Ashlynn), and Crystal (Douglas) Staley (nephew, Phillip); his 2 |
| 20 |
| aunts; his uncle; and many cousins; therefore, be it
