SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Betty L. Romolo of Peoria, who passed 
4
away on July 19, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was born on September 21, 1928 in 
6
Kentucky; his parents were George and Lila Lovan; she married 
7
Tony Romolo on December 24, 1951; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was a loyal and dedicated employee at 
9
Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years until her retirement in 1982; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Betty Romolo enjoyed golfing and all other sports; 
11
she was also an avid fan of her children and grandchildren's 
12
sports and the Chicago Bulls; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was preceded in death by her sisters, 
14
Mary Jenkins and Edna Mae McCormick; and her brothers, Charles 
15
Lovan, Angus Lovan, Boyce Lovan, Tom Lovan, and Willard Lovan; 
16
and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Betty Romolo is survived by her husband, Tony; her 
18
son, Joe Romolo; her daughter, Lila Kennelly; her 
19
grandchildren, Kristin, Luke, and Nick Romolo, and Katy and 
20
Nathan Kennelly; and her sisters, Nadine Lovan, Dorothy Ann

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that  we mourn, along with 
4
her family and friends, the passing of Betty L. Romolo; and be 
5
it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the family of Betty Romolo as an expression of our 
8
sympathy.
