| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Lorraine R. Zier of Elwood, formerly of |
| 4 |
| Joliet, who passed away on September 17, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Lorraine Zier was born on July 22, 1929 in Joliet; |
| 6 |
| she was a lifelong resident of Joliet; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Lorraine Zier graduated from Joliet Township High |
| 8 |
| School in 1947; she retired from Al Baskin's in the early 1970s |
| 9 |
| after many years of dedicated service; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Lorraine Zier was preceded in death by her |
| 11 |
| husband, Donald L. "Ziggy" Zier; her parents, Runo and Ruby |
| 12 |
| Norberg; and her brothers, LeRoy and Earl Norberg; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Lorraine Zier is survived by her children, Ronald |
| 14 |
| C. (Nancy) Zier, Kathy (Michael) Derrig, and Carol J. Zier; her |
| 15 |
| grandchildren, Jodi Zier, Steven (Barbara) Zier, Kristin |
| 16 |
| (Ryan) McWilliam, and Craig Derrig; her great-grandchildren, |
| 17 |
| Jacob Zier, Ty Zier, and Ryan, Jace, Seth, and Payton |
| 18 |
| McWilliam; her brother, Howard (Doris) Norberg; her |
| 19 |
| sister-in-law, Mary Norberg; and her special friend, John |
| 20 |
