| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Carole Carter; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Carole Carter was born on July 12, 1960; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Carole Carter devoted much of her time to the |
| 6 |
| non-profit organization she founded, the Big Girl Faith |
| 7 |
| Organization, which provides spiritual and financial support |
| 8 |
| to women of color who are fighting breast cancer and in need of |
| 9 |
| assistance with rent or mortgage payments, utilities, |
| 10 |
| transportation to and from treatment, groceries, and |
| 11 |
| care-giving services; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Carole Carter was an employee of Motorola and |
| 13 |
| helped to develop OnStar; she also worked at Continental for 15 |
| 14 |
| years; and |
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Carole Carter was a member of the Trinity United |
| 16 |
| Church of Christ and served as Chairperson of the Sistuh Fund |
| 17 |
| Giving Circle; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Carole Carter was a loving and affectionate person |
| 19 |
| who was always ready to greet someone with a hug and a smile; |
| 20 |
| she was loved by all who knew her; she was a dedicated mother |
