| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Robert "Bob" L. Tarrant of Alton, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on September 23, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant was born on October 2, 1935 in |
| 6 |
| Omaha; he was the son of the late Eslie and Ocie (Dorris) |
| 7 |
| Tarrant; he married the former Mary Stutz on October 6, 1956 at |
| 8 |
| the Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant was employed at the Canteen |
| 10 |
| Corporation for 28 years; he then worked at Owens-Illinois in |
| 11 |
| the purchasing and receiving department for 14 years until his |
| 12 |
| retirement in 2000; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant was a member of St. Mary's Catholic |
| 14 |
| Church in Alton, the Alton Motor Boat Club, and the Alton |
| 15 |
| Eagles 254; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant loved garden, fishing, hunting, |
| 17 |
| and boating; he was a great cook and loved to can the |
| 18 |
| vegetables he grew in his garden; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant was preceded in death by his |
| 20 |
| parents; his nephew, Ricky Tarrant; his sister-in-law, Jean |

| WHEREAS, Robert Tarrant is survived by his wife, Mary; his |

| children and their spouses, Cheryl and Scott Hargrave, Lisa and |

| Gilbert Moses, Robert W. and Melinda Tarrant, Karen and Greg |
| 5 |
| Pope, and Tricia and Daryl Guffey; his grandchildren, Ryan |

| Hargrave (fiancee, Risha Hahnenkamp), Jennifer and Chris |
| 7 |
| Anderson-Krome, Lindsay Hargrave, Kimberly Hargrave, Marisa |
| 8 |
| and Tim Murray, Jamie Moses, Travis Tarrant (fiancee, Ali |
| 9 |
| McAfoos), Lauren Tarrant, Alyssa Tarrant, Nichole Pope |
| 10 |
| (fiance, Aaron Jones), Megan and Kase McDonald, Eric Pope, |

| step-grandson, Benjamin Guffey; his 4 great-grandchildren; his |

| brothers and sister-in-law, William Tarrant and Larry |

| Rusty Lamberson; his half sisters, Alta Haas and Doris |

| Cottingham; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
| 19 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Robert "Bob" L. Tarrant; |
| 20 |
| and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 22 |
| presented to the family of Robert Tarrant as an expression of |
| 23 |
| our sympathy.
