| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Ruth Haasis of Champaign, formerly of |
| 4 |
| Springfield, who passed away on September 27, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born June 15, 1923, in Waverly, the |
| 6 |
| daughter of Albert Collins and Mary Miner Collins; she was |
| 7 |
| married to Raymond Haasis in 1952; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, While a resident of Springfield, Mrs. Haasis was a |
| 9 |
| member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and, more |
| 10 |
| recently, St. Agnes Catholic Church; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She managed the Sangamo Electric Employees Credit |
| 12 |
| Union and was employed as an accountant at St. John's Hospital |
| 13 |
| prior to her retirement in 1986; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, |
| 15 |
| Ronald; her parents; her two brothers; and her two sisters; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Ruth Haasis is survived by her son, Mark (wife, |
| 17 |
| Sandra); her daughter, Judith (husband, Bruno) Velcich; her |
| 18 |
| daughter, Regina (husband, Bruce) Burk; her daughter-in-law, |
| 19 |
| Jeri Garman; her seven grandchildren; her eleven |
| 20 |
| great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; |
