SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Shirley L. Weatherford of Carlinville, 
4
who passed away on October 14, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on February 5, 1929, in Hillsboro, 
6
the daughter of Everett H. and Floy Elizabeth (East) Williams; 
7
and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, She married J.T. Weatherford in Carlinville, on 
9
April 24, 1949; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, She was co-administrator for Weatherford Nursing 
11
Home with her husband J.T.; in 1975 they built Sunshine Manor 
12
Nursing Home in Carlinville and operated it until they retired 
13
in 1985; she was a member of First Assembly of God Church in 
14
Carlinville; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her 
16
husband; her grandson, Jason Dugger; her granddaughter, Kendra 
17
Higgins; her four sisters; and her two brothers; and
  
 
18
    WHEREAS, Shirley Weatherford is survived by her daughter, 
19
Kathy Dugger (Tom); her daughter, Janie Ashworth (Jim); her 
20
daughter, Jeri Lynn Murphy; her son, Ennio Weatherford (Paola);

her 7 grandchildren; her 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, 
2
Helen Shockey; and sister, Alvera Dawson; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5
her family and friends, the passing of Shirley Weatherford; and 
6
be it further
  
 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to the family of Shirley Weatherford as a symbol of 
9
our sincere sympathy.
