SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of Alene A. Selvo of Carlinville, who passed 
4
away on September 27, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was born on January 13, 1918, in 
6
Frontenac, Kansas; she was the daughter of Vittorio and Mary 
7
Ferrero Selvo; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was a graduate of Carlinville High 
9
School; she was employed as a bookkeeper for Farm Credit for 
10
several years until her retirement in 1983; she also worked for 
11
the Marvel Theatre and the Diane Drive-In; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph 
13
Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas; and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS, Alene Selvo was preceded in death by her sister, 
15
Carmelena Selvo; and
  
 
16
    WHEREAS, Alene Selvo is survived by her sisters and 
17
brother-in-law, Vittorina Wilson, Delphine (Norman) Paul, and 
18
Alvera Costa; her 3 nieces; and her great-niece and 
19
great-nephew; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
her family and friends, the passing of Alene A. Selvo; and be 
4
it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Alene Selvo as an expression of our 
7
sympathy.
