| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Mrs. Annie Lee-Houston of Chicago, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on October 19, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on September 9, 1929 in Mobile, |
| 6 |
| Alabama, to Gertrude Joiner and Charlie Lewis and accepted |
| 7 |
| Christ at an early age; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She married Jenkin Ernest Lee on August 23, 1952 |
| 9 |
| and later married Junior Houston in 1993; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, She retired from St. Francis Hospital in Evanston |
| 11 |
| with over 32 years of service, ending her career as a Surgeon's |
| 12 |
| Assistant; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Junior |
| 14 |
| Houston; her siblings, Lula Mae and Minnie Lee Jackson; and her |
| 15 |
| infant son, Ernest Jenkins Lee; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Annie Lee-Houston is survived by her children, |
| 17 |
| George Turner, Evelyn Marie Lee, Prince Arron Lee, Ernest |
| 18 |
| Jerome Lee, Patricia Lee Horton, and Mary Lee Gibson; and her |
| 19 |
| step-daughters, Mary Houston and Sylvia Houston; therefore, be |
| 20 |
