SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Charles E. Gesky of Waukegan, who passed 
4
away on October 22, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Charles "Chuck" Gesky was born January 29, 1945 in 
6
Waukegan and married Loretta Zaker on August 31, 1973 in 
7
Waukegan; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, He retired as a mail carrier in Waukegan three 
9
years ago, after 30 years of service; he enjoyed golf and was a 
10
lifelong Chicago Cubs fan; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps 
12
having served during the Vietnam era; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard; 
14
his parents, Karl & Agatha Gesky; his sister-in-law, Debra 
15
Sleddens and his father-in-law, Vincent Zaker; and
  
 
16
    WHEREAS, Charles Gesky is survived by his wife, Loretta; 
17
his daughters, Phyllis Kozlowski and Sara (Ryan) Ames; his son, 
18
Charles "CJ" Gesky; his grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, 
19
Ethan, Kaylie, Jane, Ross, and "Flash"; his sisters-in-laws, 
20
Bonnie (David) Brogan and Roberta (Steve) McKay; his

mother-in-law, Loretta Zaker; his brothers, Karl, Wayne, and 
2
Dennis Gesky; his sisters, Marilyn Ratliff and Rose Gesky; and

many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
his family and friends, the passing of Charles Gesky; and be it 
7
further
  
 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Charles E. Gesky as a symbol of our 
10
sincere sympathy.
