SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia Welbers of rural Spring Valley, who passed away on October 23, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born on April 6, 1924, in DePue to Frank and Emmerence (Johnson) Garrett; she married William Welbers on November 20, 1948, at St. Mary Catholic Church in DePue; and

WHEREAS, She graduated as the valedictorian for the DePue High School Class of 1942. She worked at the Green River Ordinance Plant during World War II and American Nickeloid; she was the owner of Orbit Transport, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Robert G. Garrett; and her sisters, Martha Jean Siska and Virginia G. Urbanski; and

WHEREAS, Patricia Welbers is survived by her son, Barry (Beth) Welbers; her daughter, Lori (Jerry Stocking) Stanton; her grandchildren, Bob Stanton, Bill Grosenbach, Aubrey Welbers, Ryan Welbers, Lindsay Welbers, Megan Welbers, Stephanie Stocking, Natalie Stocking, Erica Stocking, Samantha Stocking, and Kristie Stocking; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Patricia Welbers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricia Welbers as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
