SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Janice Curtis Davis, who passed away on 
4
November 30, 2009; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Janice Curtis Davis was born on November 17, 1955, 
6
in Chicago; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, Janice Curtis Davis was preceded in death by her 
8
brothers, Maurice and Willie Curtis, and her grand-nephew, 
9
Aiden Burke; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Janice Curtis Davis is survived by her mother, 
11
Leontine Hughes; her sister, Yvonne (Alfonzo) Lindsey; her 
12
brother, Cortez (Felicia) Curtis; her nephews, Maurice Curtis 
13
Jr., Jabari Burke, Aaron Payne, Randy Curtis, Brian Battle, 
14
Martez White, and Brian Booker; her nieces, Lavonne Curtis, 
15
Aisha Burke, and Linnie Curtis; her grand-niece, Courtney 
16
Mariyah Griffin; and her grandchild, Lanika Anderson 
17
Carothers; and

    WHEREAS, Janice Curtis Davis will be remembered by all who 
19
knew and loved her as a beautiful, funny, talented, and 
20
intelligent wife, sister, daughter, and friend; therefore, be 
21

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with

her family and friends, the passing of Janice Curtis Davis; and

be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Janice Curtis Davis as an expression 
7
of our sympathy.
