| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of Marianne Catherine Lindrum on December |
4 |
| 12, 2009; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne was born on September 12, 1917 in |
6 |
| Chicago, Illinois to Carolina (nee Brusca) and Giuseppe "Joe" |
7 |
| Renzi; she was the baby sister to Dominic, Anthony "Tony" and |
8 |
| Angelo "Larry"; her family precedes her in death; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne attended high school in Chicago, |
10 |
| however, her education was never completed as she worked to |
11 |
| help support her family during the Great Depression; and |
12 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne married Clement John Lindrum on July, 9, |
13 |
| 1940 in Chicago; to this union they had three children, |
14 |
| Elizabeth, William, and Carolyn; she married Liborio "Bordee" |
15 |
| Amendala in 1972; both her husbands precede her in death; and |
16 |
| WHEREAS, Lovingly nicknamed "Cookie" and "Grams", Marianne |
17 |
| was a deeply devoted grandmother to her nine grandchildren: |
18 |
| Sharon (Joseph) Skierkiewicz, Theresa (Jeffery) Fugitt, |
19 |
| William Jr. (Gina) Hornbogen, Colette (Glenn) Gutterman; |
20 |
| Allison Lindrum, Rebecca (Daniel) Hankiewicz, John (Abigail) |
21 |
| Hornbogen, John (Joelle) Knapp, and Cynthia Lindrum; and |
|

| WHEREAS, Marianne was a proud "Nonni" to her eleven |

| great-grandchildren: Alexandria Conforti, Megan Fugitt, Taylor |
3 |
| Skierkiewicz, Amanda Skierkiewicz, Ryan Weiskopf, Sam |
4 |
| Gutterman, Alexandra Hornbogen, Samantha Hornbogen, Maya |
5 |
| Hornbogen, Ethan Hornbogen, and Bryce Knapp; and |
6 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne was a doting aunt to Dominic (late Joan) |
7 |
| Renzi, Kathryn (Chuck) Valeck, Careen (Larry) Kopp, Anita (Ron) |
8 |
| Turkutz, Valerie Nelson, Anthony Renzi, Richard "Dick" Renzi, |
9 |
| and Diane (Ray) Stukel; she was preceded in death by her |
10 |
| nephew, Joseph Renzi; and |
11 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne was a loving mother-in-law to William |
12 |
| Hornbogen, Sr. and Arlene Lindrum; and |
13 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne was a dear friend to her sister-in-law, |
14 |
| Lorraine (the late Angelo) Renzi; she was also a dear friend to |
15 |
| her sisters-in-law, Jean Renzi and Josephine Renzi, who |
16 |
| preceded her in death; and |
17 |
| WHEREAS, Marianne was a businesswoman in an era when women |
18 |
| traditionally stayed home; while completing business courses, |
19 |
| she worked at Oak Park National Bank; she also enjoyed using |
20 |
| her sewing talents to make wedding dresses for her friends and |
21 |
| a Communion dress for her daughter, Carolyn; in addition, she |

| was an avid reader, world traveler, and enjoyed playing bridge |
2 |
| and poker with her friends; and |
3 |
| WHEREAS, There are no words that could describe the void |
4 |
| Marianne has left on her family and friends; the memory of a |
5 |
| remarkable life has become their treasure for eternity; |
6 |
| therefore, be it
|
7 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |
8 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
9 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Marianne Catherine |
10 |
| Lindrum; and be it further
|
11 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
12 |
| presented to the family of Marianne Lindrum as an expression of |
13 |
| our deepest sympathy.
