| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Arthur W. Hustis of Marseilles, who |
4 |
| passed away on September 13, 2009; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Arthur Hustis was born on July 23, 1929, in Cold |
6 |
| Spring, New York; his parents were Roger and Helen Gravel |
7 |
| Hustis; he married JoAnn Laatz on September 4, 1954; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Arthur Hustis served his country with pride and |
9 |
| distinction as a member of the U.S. Army Signal Corps during |
10 |
| the Korean Conflict, having served with the occupation forces |
11 |
| in Germany; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Arthur Hustis retired from the former Nabisco |
13 |
| Company in Marseilles after many years of service as a printing |
14 |
| press operator; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, Arthur Hustis was a member of the First |
16 |
| Congregational-United Church of Christ in Ottawa, where he |
17 |
| served 2 separate terms as moderator; he was a member of the |
18 |
| Marseilles Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5506 and a past master |
19 |
| and 50-year member of Marseilles Masonic Lodge 417, A.F. & |
20 |
| A.M.; he was a member and past patron of the former Ramona |
21 |
| Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Marseilles; he was |
