| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of Brad Horton of Edwards, who passed away |
| 4 |
| on January 29, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born October 3, 1950, in Dixon to William |
| 6 |
| "Bill" and Bernice E. Deets Horton; he married Nancy Kay |
| 7 |
| Gustine in Peoria on May 7, 1994; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was the Peoria County Recorder of Deeds; he was |
| 9 |
| the president of the 2nd Ward Republican Club; past president |
| 10 |
| of all of the following: Kiwanis, Peoria Township Officials, |
| 11 |
| Peoria County Assessor Association, and the Illinois Assessor |
| 12 |
| Association; and he was an instructor for the Illinois Property |
| 13 |
| Assessment Institute; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father and |
| 15 |
| grandparents; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Brad Horton is survived by his wife, Nancy; his |
| 17 |
| mother; his daughter, Alicia (Derek) Lash; his two grandsons, |
| 18 |
| Cayden Lash and Brady Johnson; his brother, Brian (Kim) Horton; |
| 19 |
| and his nieces and nephew, Jennifer (Kevin) Lawson, Rebecca |
| 20 |
| Horton, Taneea Gustine, Zane Puckett, and Chelsea Barr; |
