| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of William W. Patton of Girard, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on January 13, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born February 19, 1935, in Albany, |
| 6 |
| Kentucky, the son of Willie and Edith Patton; he married Mary |
| 7 |
| Lee Matheny of Divernon; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a retired carpenter and member of Local 16 |
| 9 |
| Springfield; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, William Patton is survived by his wife, Mary Lee; |
| 11 |
| his son, Dennis Patton; his daughters, Cindy (Mark) Edwards and |
| 12 |
| Judy (Steve) Allen; his four grandchildren; his two |
| 13 |
| great-grandchildren; his five step-grandchildren; his three |
| 14 |
| brothers, James (Karen) Patton, Ed (Sharon) Patton, and Robert |
| 15 |
| Patton; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and |
| 16 |
| cousins; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |

| his family and friends, the passing of William Patton; and be |
