SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, During the 96th General Assembly, Senate
3 Resolution 93 created the Re-Sellers' Electronic Reporting
4 Task Force, to study the various systems, technologies, and
5 methods of operation for providing law enforcement with timely
6 access to information relating to the sales of personal
7 property by pawnbrokers, auction services, consignment
8 sellers, and other resellers, and to consult with such law
9 enforcement agencies, pawnbrokers, auction services,
10 consignment sellers, resellers, and other persons or entities
11 as it may deem fit, including, but not limited to, providers of
12 technology and services relating to the collection,
13 compilation, storage, and access to such information; and
 
14     WHEREAS, The Re-Sellers' Electronic Reporting Task Force
15 was to report its findings and recommendations to the General
16 Assembly by December 31, 2009; and
 
17     WHEREAS, The Re-Sellers' Electronic Reporting Task Force
18 needs additional time to complete its work; therefore, be it
 
19     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
20 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Re-Sellers'
21 Electronic Reporting Task Force shall submit a report, as
22 required in Senate Resolution 93 of the 96th General Assembly,

1 no later than December 31, 2010; and be it further
 
2     RESOLVED, That should the Governor fail to make any or all
3 of the 3 appointments to the Re-Sellers' Electronic Reporting
4 Task Force provided for under Senate Resolution 93 before July
5 1, 2010, any of those appointments remaining unmade on that
6 date may thereafter be made by the President of the Senate; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That with this reporting extension, the
9 Re-Sellers' Electronic Reporting Task Force shall continue to
10 operate pursuant to Senate Resolution 93 of the 96th General
11 Assembly.
