SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Jenny M. Stankoven of Gillespie, who 
4
passed away on February 5, 2010; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on August 26, 1916 in Mt. Clare, the 
6
daughter of Peter and Catarina Sandretto Obertino; she married 
7
John Stankovin on January 11, 1936 in Gillespie; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, She was a retired clerk from Tri City Grocery in 
9
Gillespie; she was a cook for Community Unit School District 
10
#7; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, She was a former member of the Macoupin County 
12
Home Extension Bureau and Ss. Simon and Jude Altar Society; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, John; 
14
her son, Jack Stankoven; and her brothers, Paul Obertino and 
15
Dominic Obertino; and
  
 
16
    WHEREAS, Jenny Stankoven is survived by her 
17
daughter-in-law, Kathryn E. Stankoven; her grandchildren, John 
18
(wife, Beth) Stankoven and  Karen (husband, Scott) Howard; and 
19
five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL

ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3
her family and friends, the passing of Jenny Stankoven; and be 
4
it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to the family of Jenny Stankoven as a symbol of our 
7
sincere sympathy.
