2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Arthur R. Sullivan Jr., who passed away | ||||||
4 | on February 20, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. was born on September 11, | ||||||
6 | 1916, in Akron, Ohio; his parents were the late Arthur R. and | ||||||
7 | Marie Violet Sullivan; he married Norma Catherine Dymond on | ||||||
8 | June 21, 1941; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. graduated from Cathedral | ||||||
10 | Latin High School; he served his country with pride and | ||||||
11 | distinction as a member of the United States Army with Company | ||||||
12 | C of the 6th Armored Division during World War II; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. lived in Cleveland, Ohio until | ||||||
14 | 1970, when he moved to Wellington, Ohio; from 2008 to 2009, he | ||||||
15 | lived at St. Augustine Manor in Peoria, near his daughter, | ||||||
16 | Nora; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. was employed as a millwright | ||||||
18 | for many years; his last position was with the City of | ||||||
19 | Cleveland, where he worked until his retirement; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. was a member of St. Patrick |

| |||||||
1 | Catholic Church in Wellington; he was proud to have served as | ||||||
2 | President of the Northwest Deanery of the Holy Name Society and | ||||||
3 | the Lourdes Academy Father's Club; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. enjoyed traveling the world | ||||||
5 | with his wife, spending time at his small "farm" in Wellington, | ||||||
6 | clearing paths in the woods, and making park-like settings for | ||||||
7 | walks in the woods; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
9 | wife, Norma; his grandsons, Patrick Bryk and Michael Sullivan; | ||||||
10 | and his siblings, Robert, Jeanne Forsgren, Joseph O'Sullivan, | ||||||
11 | Thomas, Geraldine Mullen, Raymond, and Kevin; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Arthur Sullivan Jr. is survived by his children, | ||||||
13 | Arthur III, Mary Bryk, Nora (David) Koehler, Rae, Theresa | ||||||
14 | (David) Schramm, and Dan (Terri Meadows); his grandchildren, | ||||||
15 | Jennifer Bryk (Adam) Hechko, Jackie Bryk, Jaime Bryk (Britt) | ||||||
16 | Vanchura, Josie Bryk, Jodie Bryk, Kate Koehler (Jay) Pastucha, | ||||||
17 | Maggie Sullivan Koehler, Lilly Sullivan Koehler, Peter David | ||||||
18 | Schramm, Jacob Schramm, Andrew Schramm, and Wesley Meadows; his | ||||||
19 | great-grandchildren, Caroline, John, and Elizabeth Vanchura, | ||||||
20 | Alexander Hechko, Christian Maynard, and Georgia and Amelia | ||||||
21 | Pastucha; his siblings, Loretta Demaline, Larry Sullivan, | ||||||
22 | Richard Sullivan, and Noreen Sulzer; and his many nieces and | ||||||
23 | nephews; therefore, be it

1 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
3 | his family and friends, the passing of Arthur R. Sullivan Jr.; | ||||||
4 | and be it further

5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
6 | presented to the family of Arthur Sullivan Jr. as an expression | ||||||
7 | of our sympathy.
