SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3
learn of the death of
Malika S. Hasan, who passed away on 
4
February 17, 2010; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, Malika  Hasan was born on May 6, 1972, in Chicago; 
6
her parents were Yusuf and Maryum; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, Malika Hasan accepted Christ at the New Beginnings 
8
Church in 2009, where she remained until her passing; and
 
9
    WHEREAS, Malika Hasan attended Chicago Public Schools; she 
10
later served as a culinary cook and home care provider for 
11
several years; and

  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Malika Hasan is survived by her parents; her 
13
sisters, Lazane, Kemba-Noni, Akilah, Talibah, and Maisha; her 
14
brothers, Rasheed and LaShawn; her 3 step-sisters and one 
15
step-brother; and her many nieces, nephews, other relatives, 
16
and friends; and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, Malika Hasan physically, emotionally, and 
18
financially played a major role in the lives of many children, 
19
especially Erika, LaTonya, Angel, Jyaire, Special, Jessionna, 
20
Eric, and Khadijah; and

    WHEREAS, Malika Hasan will be remembered by all who knew 
2
and loved her as a loving woman who was always willing to help 
3
people and could always anticipate their needs; therefore, be 
4
it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
6
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7
her family and friends, the passing of Malika S. Hasan; and be 
8
it further
  
 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Malika Hasan as an expression of our 
11
sympathy.
