| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Douglas R. Koss of Waukegan, who passed |
| 4 |
| away on January 18, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas R. Koss was born October 7, 1935 in |
| 6 |
| Waukegan and remained a lifelong resident; he was an active |
| 7 |
| member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church; he attended the |
| 8 |
| University of Illinois Chicago and served in the United States |
| 9 |
| Air Force; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He and his brother Bob Koss owned and operated Bob & |
| 11 |
| Doug's Amoco Service Station on the corner of Sunset and |
| 12 |
| Lewis in Waukegan for 43 years, along with Bob & Doug's Auto |
| 13 |
| Service on Sunset and Northern in Waukegan for the last ten |
| 14 |
| years of their business; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph |
| 16 |
| and Grace Koss; and his brother, Robert Koss, whom he loved |
| 17 |
| very much; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Douglas Koss is survived by his loving wife, Beth; |
| 19 |
| his two daughters, Amy (Christopher) Venckus and Sally (Mark) |
| 20 |
| Stailey; his son, David Koss; his sisters, Margaret Lyons and |
| 21 |
| Florence (Robert) Kristensen; his sister-in-law, Pamela Koss; |
