SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3
learn of the death of Geraldine A. "Gerrie" Parr of Champaign, 
4
who passed away on February 12, 2010; and
  
 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on July 28th, 1946 in Cadillac, 
6
Michigan; she graduated from Waukegan Township High School, 
7
class of 1964, and the University of Illinois at 
8
Urbana-Champaign, class of 1968, with a Bachelor's Degree in 
9
Psychology; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Before her retirement, she served as Auditor of 
11
Champaign County; she was also the Chairperson of the Champaign 
12
County Democratic Party for 10 years; in addition to 
13
politicking, she spent her time skiing, sailing, reading, and 
14
cooking; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, She loved to travel and did so extensively in the 
16
last several years, including trips to Tahiti, China, France, 
17
Peru, and Egypt; and
  
 
18
    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Kurt 
19
McKenzie; her mother, Dorothy Parr; and her brother-in-law, 
20
Jerry Altman; and

    WHEREAS, Geraldine Parr is survived by her daughter, 
2
Daniellinda Schooley; her father and step-mother, Dan and Mavon 
3
Parr; and her sister, Linda Altman; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
6
her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine Parr; and be 
7
it further
  
 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to the family of Geraldine Parr  as a symbol of our 
10
sincere sympathy.
