| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the passing of Martin C. Voss, who passed away on |
| 4 |
| January 19, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born February 21, 1950, in Sandwich; He was |
| 6 |
| the son of the late Donald and Betty Voss; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He served his country during the Vietnam War in |
| 8 |
| the Army, and continued serving his country and community in |
| 9 |
| his volunteer work; he was recognized for his work by the City |
| 10 |
| of Des Plaines in 2007, receiving the Good Neighbor Super Star |
| 11 |
| Award; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was the 9th district commander of the American |
| 13 |
| Legion; commander for the last six years of American Legion |
| 14 |
| Post 36; a member of the V.F.W. Post 2922 of Des Plaines; a |
| 15 |
| member of the V.V.A.; and a member of the memorial squad at |
| 16 |
| Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, He loved to fish and dance, and enjoy life helping |
| 18 |
| others; he will be missed by many; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Martin Voss was the brother of Mary (Timothy) |
| 20 |
| Hoglund; and the uncle of Robin, Matt, Ben, Ellie and Bailey; |
