SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Myrtle Evelyn Towne of North Chicago, who passed away on March 2, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on March 2, 1920 in Bass Lake, Wisconsin, and was a lifelong resident of North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, She was retired from Abbott Laboratory in North Chicago; she was devoted to her loving family and was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church; and

WHEREAS, She loved to travel with the Waukegan Social Club, and she loved to do arts and crafts and bird watching along with her 2 loving cats, Jit and T.T.; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald (Bud) Towne; her daughter, Dona Rae Cessna; her great-grandson, Joseph Wade Gilbert; her brothers, Clinton and Dean Anderson; her sisters, Edna Dean and Ethel Scribner, and her parents, John and Maude Anderson; and

WHEREAS, Her life was devoted to her family; her daughters, Sharon Perini and Linda (Jim) Walenter; her grandchildren, Kim Maroney and Ronald Towne, Winona (Jim) Lavris, Cam Wallert, Paul Perini, and Troy (Diana) Laughlin; her many great-grandchildren; her sisters, Eunice Dobnikar and Eleanor Siwula; and her many loving nieces and nephews, especially Johnny Pfister; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Myrtle Towne; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Myrtle Towne as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
