| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of
Sanford Z. Patlak of Lansing, who passed |
| 4 |
| on March 7, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Sanford Patlak graduated from the University of |
| 6 |
| Illinois in Chicago; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Sanford Patlak was employed as a teacher and |
| 8 |
| varsity soccer and basketball coach for U-High Lab for 37 |
| 9 |
| years; he also coached womens soccer at Prairie State College |
| 10 |
| and boys soccer at Marion Catholic High School; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Sanford Patlak was a Past President of the |
| 12 |
| Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association; he was |
| 13 |
| designated Coach of the Year in 1974 and Soccer Man of the Year |
| 14 |
| in 1980 and 1990; he was also inducted into the Wall of Fame at |
| 15 |
| Toyota Park in Bridgeview and the Illinois Soccer Hall of Fame |
| 16 |
| in Springfield; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Sanford Patlak served his country with pride and |
| 18 |
| distinction as a member of the United States Merchant Marine; |
| 19 |
| he also served the Director of the Dolton ESDA; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Sanford Patlak is survived by his daughters, |
