| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |

| learn of the death of
Vern I. McCarthy Jr. of Oak Brook, who |
| 4 |
| passed away on February 25, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Vern McCarthy Jr. was born on May 12, 1927, in |
| 6 |
| Melrose Park; his parents were Vern I. and Vivien (nee Decker) |
| 7 |
| McCarthy Sr.; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Vern McCarthy Jr. is survived by his children, |
| 9 |
| Kenton V. McCarthy, Leslie A. (Scott) Miller, and Brian P. |
| 10 |
| (Tracy) McCarthy; his grandchildren, Brett, Blake, and Matthew |
| 11 |
| Miller and Samantha and Sydney McCarthy; his sister, Rianna |
| 12 |
| (Willie) Williams; and his brother-in-law, Richard (Irene) |
| 13 |
| Donohoe; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
| 16 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Vern I. McCarthy Jr.; |
| 17 |
| and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 |
| presented to the family of Vern McCarthy Jr. as an expression |
| 20 |
| of our sympathy.
