| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 |
| learn of the death of Scott Anthony Miller of Little Rock, |
4 |
| Arkansas, formerly of Rochester, who passed away on April 22, |
5 |
| 2010; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Anthony Miller was born July 21, 1957, in |
7 |
| Belleville, to Bob and Gerry Miller; he married MaryBeth, nee |
8 |
| Eschman, Miller on July 13, 1985; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Scott was a standout athlete as a member of the |
10 |
| Belleville Township High School West Class of 1975; he played |
11 |
| with the 1975 Belleville Hillgards American Legion State |
12 |
| baseball champions; he attended Eastern Illinois University in |
13 |
| Charleston, earning a bachelor of science degree in accounting, |
14 |
| and began a 23 year career with the State of Illinois in 1982; |
15 |
| and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He worked as a travel aide to Governor Jim |
17 |
| Thompson before ascending through various positions in the |
18 |
| Department of Banks and Trusts and the Department of Revenue; |
19 |
| he left the State of Illinois and joined Fast Enterprises in |
20 |
| 2005; in 2008, Fast Enterprises moved Scott and his family to |
21 |
| Little Rock as the project director for the AIRS project; and |
|

| WHEREAS, In addition to his professional career, Scott was |
2 |
| a founding partner in Rochester Investments, Ltd., Milldale, |
3 |
| Ltd., and The ALF Group, developers of the Wyndcrest |
4 |
| assisted-living community; he was a member of Christ the King |
5 |
| Catholic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, and a former member |
6 |
| of the Church of St. Jude in Rochester, where he served as a |
7 |
| member of the pastoral council and the Knights of Columbus; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Scott was a true gentleman who exemplified the |
9 |
| highest character and a tasteful style; friends, employees, and |
10 |
| associates remember his enthusiastic leadership, fairness, |
11 |
| honesty, and integrity; he was a member of the YMCA and various |
12 |
| recreational basketball and softball teams; he loved spending |
13 |
| time with his family, landscaping, and home improvement |
14 |
| projects, golf, and watching sports on TV, especially the St. |
15 |
| Louis Cardinals; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Scott was preceded in death by his paternal |
17 |
| grandparents, Art and Ethel Miller; and maternal grandparents, |
18 |
| Frank and Sophie Krystoff; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Scott Miller is survived by his wife, MaryBeth; |
20 |
| his children, Eric, Allison, and Meredith; his parents; his |
21 |
| brother, Jeff (Pam) Miller; his sisters, Debbie (Chuck) |
22 |
| Schumacher and Diane (Kevin) McCarkel; his in-laws, Carl and |
23 |
| Marilyn Eschman; his brothers-in-law, Dave, Greg (Vicki), Jeff |

| (Kelly), and Todd (Shelly) Eschman; his 18 nieces and nephews; |

| his aunts and uncles; his cousins; his brothers and |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
6 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Scott Miller; and be it |
7 |
| further
|
8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
9 |
| presented to the family of Scott Miller as a symbol of our |
10 |
| sincere sympathy.
