| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 |
| learn of the death of Arthur F. Wendler, Sr., of Edwardsville, |
| 4 |
| who passed away on May 14, 2010; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born July 19, 1922, in St. Jacob, the son |
| 6 |
| of the late Moritz and Lena (Busse) Wendler; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He practiced law in the Troy and Edwardsville area |
| 8 |
| for 61 years, many of those years from his law office in Troy; |
| 9 |
| he tried a case before the Supreme Court in 1993; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He was a B-24 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps |
| 11 |
| during World War II; he was a member of the Illinois Bar |
| 12 |
| Association, the American Bar Association, American Legion |
| 13 |
| Post 708 in Troy, and Eden United Church of Christ in |
| 14 |
| Edwardsville; he was a graduate of the University of Illinois |
| 15 |
| School of Law in 1948; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his two sisters and |
| 17 |
| nine brothers; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Arthur Wendler Sr. is survived by his son, Eric |
| 19 |
| Wendler and his wife, Tricia; his grandchildren, Elaine Renee |
| 20 |
| Wendler and Noah Wendler; and his brother, Herb Wendler; |
