| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Village of Westville will celebrate the 100th |
| 3 |
| anniversary of its Labor Day parade on September 6, 2010; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, The parade is a joint celebration between the |
| 5 |
| Westville Lions Club and St. Mary's Church in Westville; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The Westville Labor Day parade has the distinction |
| 7 |
| of being the oldest continuous Labor Day parade in the State of |
| 8 |
| Illinois; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The Westville Labor Day parade also currently |
| 10 |
| boasts the record for the east central Illinois Labor Day |
| 11 |
| parade with the most entries, with over 150 different |
| 12 |
| participants; therefore, be it
|
| 13 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |
| 14 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that, in recognition of the |
| 15 |
| 100th anniversary of the Village of Westville's annual Labor |
| 16 |
| Day tradition, we proclaim September 6, 2010 as "Westville Day" |
| 17 |
| in the State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 18 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 19 |
| presented to the Village of Westville, the Westville Lions |
| 20 |
| Club, and St. Mary's Church in Westville.
