SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Private First Class Gunnar Randall 
4Hotchkin of Naperville, formerly of Hinsdale, who was killed in 
5action in northern Afghanistan, on June 16, 2010; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, He was born December 23, 1978, in Hinsdale; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a graduate of Hinsdale High School in 1977, 
8where he starred on the swim team; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Army in March of 
102009; he was thinking of becoming a public prosecutor after his 
11time of service ended; and

  
 
12    WHEREAS, Pfc. Gunnar Hotchkin is survived by his wife, 
13Erin; his three children, Taylor, Ethan, and Tristan; his 
14brother, Kurt; his parents, Christine and Randall; his niece 
15and nephew; and his grandmother, Ly Hotchkin; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
18his family, friends, colleagues, and a grateful nation, the 
19passing of Private First Class Gunnar Randall Hotchkin; and be 
20it further

1    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Private First Class 
2Gunnar Randall Hotchkin and his willingness to serve his 
3country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be 
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Private First Class Gunnar Randall 
7Hotchkin as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
