SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
United States Marine Corps Staff Sergeant 
4Justus S. Bartelt of Polo, who was killed while on duty in 
5Helmand Province, Afghanistan on July 16, 2010; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, SSgt. Justus Bartelt graduated from Polo 
7Community High School in 2001; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, SSgt. Justus Bartelt served with great pride and 
9distinction with the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment of the 
102nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune in Afghanistan; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, SSgt. Justus Bartelt was the loving son of Steve 
12Bartelt and Jeannie Kyker and the brother of Shayann Bartelt, 
13Simber Bartelt, and Kellen Kyker; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, SSgt. Justus Bartelt's patriotism and courage 
15will be remembered fondly by his loving family, his fellow 
16soldiers, and the citizens of our grateful nation; therefore, 
17be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
20his family and friends, the passing of Staff Sergeant Justus S.
