| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
U.S. Army Sergeant Jesse Richard Tilton |
| 4 | | of Long Creek, who passed away on July 16, 2010; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jesse Tilton was born on December 14, 1986 in |
| 6 | | Decatur; he was the son of Julie A. Tilton; he attended Mt. |
| 7 | | Zion High School and went on to graduate from Lincoln Challenge |
| 8 | | Academy in Rantoul; he later attended Richland Community |
| 9 | | College; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jesse Tilton served his country with pride |
| 11 | | and distinction as a medic with the United States Army, serving |
| 12 | | in the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th |
| 13 | | Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort |
| 14 | | Bragg, North Carolina; he earned numerous awards and |
| 15 | | decorations for his service, including the Bronze Star, the |
| 16 | | Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement |
| 17 | | Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense |
| 18 | | Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign |
| 19 | | Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army |
| 20 | | Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, |
| 21 | | and the Combat Medic Badge; and
|
| 22 | | WHEREAS, Sgt. Jesse Tilton was a member of the Long Creek |
