SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Gregory Lynn Jones of Waukegan, who 
4passed away on July 19, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gregory Lynn Jones was born in Waukegan on October 
65, 1954; he was the fourth child born to the late Raymond and 
7Hattie B. Jones; in April of 1976, he, along with his family, 
8confessed his belief in Christ while attending Shiloh 
9Missionary Baptist Church in Waukegan under the leadership of 
10the late Reverend Jonathan N. Lightfoot; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, As a young person, Greg played the clarinet and 
12enjoyed playing board and card games with his family and 
13traveling to places such as Las Vegas; New York; Washington, 
14D.C.; the Carolinas; and the Bahamas; he also loved listening 
15to "old school" music and attending concerts given by his 
16favorite performer, Diana Ross; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, He was a 1972 graduate of Waukegan Township High 
18School; after graduation, he was hired by the City of Waukegan 
19as an animal warden, and it was during this time that he 
20developed his love for dogs; he also worked at Baxter 
21Laboratories for many years until the company reorganized; 
22prior to his passing, he was employed by the Brown Paper Goods

1Company in Waukegan; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his paternal 
3grandparents, George and Jessie Mae Jones; his maternal 
4grandparents, Pascal and Della Johnson; his parents, Raymond 
5and Hattie Jones; his nephew, Taree Jones; and his brother, 
6Ronald Jones; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Gregory Jones is survived by his sisters, Donna M. 
8Jones, Jennifer D. Jones, and Andra C. Jones; he was uncle to 
9Bryan P. Jones and great uncle to Brinn E. Jones; treasured 
10memories of his life are left to his great uncle and aunt Ezra 
11and Sara Banks, aunt Irene Jones, and uncle Willie Johnson; to 
12celebrate his life, Greg leaves a host of cousins, many other 
13relatives and friends, and close friend Barbara Lopez; 
14therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
17his family and friends, the passing of Gregory Jones; and be it 
18further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
20presented to the family of Gregory Jones as a symbol of our 
21sincere sympathy.
