SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lance Corporal Kevin E. Oratowski of 
4Wheaton, who was killed while conducting combat operations in 
5Afghanistan on August 18, 2010; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Kevin E. Oratowski was a Wheaton 
7resident for over 22 years and a 2005 graduate of Glenbard 
8South High School in Glen Ellyn; and
  
 


  
9    WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 
10June 23, 2008; he served as a light-armored vehicle crewman and 
11was conducting  mounted combat operations against enemy forces 
12at the time of his passing; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lance Corporal Kevin E. Oratowski was the 
14cherished son of Stephen and Mary (nee Groom); the loving 
15brother of Carrie (fiancee, Jason Plaszek), Michael, and his 
16late twin sister, Avy; the dear grandson of Avy and the late 
17William Clint Groom, and the late Norman and Sylvia Oratowski; 
18the fond uncle of Charlie and Joey; the dear godson of John and 
19Kathy Gallo; the fond nephew of Loretta and Walter Kloog and 
20Shari and Bruce Barnich; and the devoted cousin of many; 
21therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family, friends, and a grateful nation, the passing of 
4Lance Corporal Kevin E. Oratowski; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Lance Corporal Kevin 
6E. Oratowski and his willingness to serve his country, which 
7led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Lance Corporal Kevin E. Oratowski as 
10a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
