SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Owen K. Richardson of Spring Grove, who 
4passed away on July 27, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Owen Richardson was born on December 15, 1921, in 
6Solon Mills; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Owen Richardson was a farmer his entire life and 
8was committed to maintaining an agricultural lifestyle and 
9staying innovative when it came to new ideas in the industry; 
10during his career, he raised dairy cows and steer and grew 
11grain and Christmas trees; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Owen Richardson enjoyed flying and traveling; he 
13served as host of numerous foreign exchange students; he was a 
14lifetime member of the Rotary Club the Community Church of 
15Richmond, where he sang in the church's choir; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Owen Richardson was preceded in death by his wife 
17of 65 years, Margaret Richardson; his brother, Francis 
18Richardson; and his sister, Della Medley; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Owen Richardson is survived by his children, 
20Robert (Carol), Jane (Steve) Amundsen, George (Wendy), Peter

1(Arlana), and Dale (Sarah); his grandchildren, Jean (Jim) 
2Valsa, Kai and Bryce Amundsen, Kenneth (Suzanne), Andrew, Kyle, 
3Ryan (Kristen), Emily, Isaac (Abby), Jacob, and Jennell 
4Richardson; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7his family and friends, the passing of Owen K. Richardson; and 
8be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Owen Richardson as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
