SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Patricia Eileen "Pat" Wiggers of 
4Springfield, who passed away on August 29, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born March 16, 1935 in Decatur to Warren 
6T. and Mary Alice Gibson French; she attended elementary 
7schools in Indiana and eastern Illinois; she graduated from 
8Tuscola High School in 1953; she later graduated from 
9Decatur-Macon County Memorial Hospital in 1956, where she 
10earned her degree in Nursing; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, She married Milton Wiggers in Springfield on 
12September 8, 1957; and
 
13    WHEREAS, As a registered nurse, she was employed by 
14Illinois State School in Lincoln; she continued her nursing 
15profession with Springfield Clinic, Memorial Hospital, Dr. 
16William White, and Doctors Hospital in the Springfield area 
17until her retirement; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, She was a longtime devoted member of the Northside 
19United Methodist Church in Springfield; she was a member of the 
20United Methodist Women, and worked countless hours in service 
21for the church; she was a great cook, and could be found in the

1kitchen of the church preparing meals for many events; she was 
2also an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, and loved to 
3knit, making blankets and back packs for mission outreach 
4projects through the church; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Her parents and her brother, John T. French, 
6preceded her in death; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS,  Patricia Wiggers is survived by her husband; her 
8children, Mark (wife Patty) Wiggers, Doug (wife Carol) Wiggers, 
9and Deborah (husband T. Richard "Rick") Bilyeu; her five 
10grandchildren, Maria Bilyeu, Thomas Bilyeu III, Elizabeth Ann 
11Wiggers, Matthew Bilyeu, and Timothy Wiggers; her great 
12grandson, Tyree White; and her sister; Barbara French; 
13therefore, be it
  
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
16her family and friends, the passing of Patricia Wiggers; and be 
17it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to the family of Patricia Wiggers as a symbol of our 
20sincere sympathy.
