2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Charles L. Bradley of Springfield, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 23, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Charles Bradley was born August 29, 1940, in | ||||||
6 | Joppa, the son of Reverend Ambus W. Bradley, Sr. and Jentrayel | ||||||
7 | T. Jones Bradley; he married Linda K. Simmons Bradley on June | ||||||
8 | 16, 1963, and to this union one daughter was born, Tracy L. | ||||||
9 | Bradley; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, He was a 1958 graduate of Lanphier High School; he | ||||||
11 | retired from Lucent Technologies in 2000; he was a 50-plus year | ||||||
12 | member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as an | ||||||
13 | usher and a member of the Male Chorus, and the Heritage Choir; | ||||||
14 | and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Charles Bradley was a veteran of the United States | ||||||
16 | Army and a member of The American Legion, Post 809; Past Master | ||||||
17 | and Treasurer of Central Lodge #3, F&AM PHA; Past Patron and | ||||||
18 | Sentinel of Estella Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star PHA; | ||||||
19 | Deputy Grand Director of Ways and Means, 3rd District, Eureka | ||||||
20 | Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, State of Illinois | ||||||
21 | PHA; Past 2nd Lieutenant, Past Illustrious Secretary, of | ||||||
22 | Menelik Consistory #49; Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret 32nd |

1 | Degree; and Potentate of Kamar Temple #56, A.E.A.O.N.M.S. PHA; | ||||||

3 | WHEREAS, Charles loved working on cars, cooking fabulous | ||||||
4 | meals for his family and friends, listening to all kinds of | ||||||
5 | music, especially the Blues, and watching professional sports | ||||||
6 | on television; and | ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his two | ||||||
8 | brothers, Jesse C. and Michael L.; and his sister, Barbara A. | ||||||
9 | Lambert; and

10 | WHEREAS, Charles Bradley leaves to cherish his memory, his | ||||||
11 | loving wife Linda; his daughter, Tracy; his brothers, Ambus | ||||||
12 | (Irene) Bradley Jr. and Bobby (Rita) Bradley; his sisters, | ||||||
13 | Dorothy Bradley and Vickie (Gary) Mosely; three | ||||||
14 | sisters-in-love, Jacqueline (William Simmons Brown, Pearl | ||||||
15 | Bradley, and Claudia Bradley; his cousins, Saundra | ||||||
16 | Witherspoon-Rule, Lenora Witherspoon Crockett, Gloria | ||||||
17 | Witherspoon, and Wesley Witherspoon; his life-long friends, | ||||||
18 | Lindell "Curt" Hester, Donna Hester Jones, and Margaret Renfro; | ||||||
19 | and a host of other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

20 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
21 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
22 | his family and friends, the passing of Charles L. Bradley; and |
