SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George J. Arnold, who passed away on
4October 3, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born August 14, 1923, in Bluffs, and was
6the son of George and Jesse (Adams) Arnold; he married Betty
7(Wilson) Arnold on March 12, 1948, in Roxana; and
 
8    WHEREAS, He served his country in the United States Air
9Force during World War II, then went to work for Olin
10Corporation as a pipefitter; he was a member of the Wood River
11Masonic Lodge and was active with the Wood River Ho-Downers
12(square dancers); and
 
13    WHEREAS, He was a Boy Scout leader, and helped build the
14Boy Scout house in Roxana; he received the Order of the Arrow
15from the Boy Scout Council; he helped in building Camp Warren
16Levis in Godfrey, and was active in Little League teams in
17Roxana; and
 
18    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife;
19and his two brothers, John and Richard Arnold; and
 
20    WHEREAS, George Arnold is survived by his four children and

1their spouses, Georgia "Kay" Barnett, Dennis and Pam Arnold,
2Keith and Jill Arnold, and Rhonda and Ron Miller; his six
3grandchildren and their spouses, Teri and Dave Shook, Steve and
4Kelley Sherwood, Stephanie and Terry Geisler, Jacob and Lori
5Miller, Morgan Arnold, and Mandy Lou Arnold; his nine
6great-grandchildren, Travis, David, and Dallas Shook, Cami and
7Cylar Sherwood, Shelbee Geisler, and Karli, Gracie, and Griffin
8Miller; and his special friend, Maxine Curtis; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of George Arnold; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of George Arnold as a symbol of our
15sincere sympathy.
