| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of
James Beavers; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, James Beavers was born on September 23, 1937 to | ||||||
| 5 | Osa Beavers-Walker; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, As a young man, James Beavers moved from his home | ||||||
| 7 | of Cropwell, Alabama to Chicago and matriculated at Englewood | ||||||
| 8 | High School; he then continued his studies at Mechanics | ||||||
| 9 | College; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, On December 29, 1957, James Beavers was united in | ||||||
| 11 | holy matrimony with Doris Murphy; together, they nurtured a | ||||||
| 12 | unique love of more than 53 years and raised 4 children, James | ||||||
| 13 | Beavers, Jr., Valerie A. Beavers, Brenda G. Beavers, and | ||||||
| 14 | Stanford L. Beavers; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, James Beavers was a dedicated, compassionate, | ||||||
| 16 | caring, and nurturing father to his children, with a | ||||||
| 17 | determination to make every day a great day; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, James Beavers and his wife shared an ambition and | ||||||
| 19 | talent for entrepreneurism; he operated a successful Sinclair | ||||||
| 20 | Gas Station and subsequently founded Busy Beaver Auto | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Construction, a successful business for more than 4 decades; | ||||||
| 2 | and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, James Beavers joined the fellowship of Mount | ||||||
| 4 | Carmel Ridge M.B. Church, where he served as a Trustee and | ||||||
| 5 | contributed to many other ministries; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, In 1993, James Beavers rededicated his life to the | ||||||
| 7 | Lord at St. Sabina Catholic Church, where he continued to grow | ||||||
| 8 | in the Lord; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, James Beavers was a committed grandfather to | ||||||
| 10 | Brandon G. Beavers, Sr., Blair C. Matthews, Bradley B. | ||||||
| 11 | Matthews, and Desiree A. Beavers and the loving | ||||||
| 12 | great-grandfather of Brandon G. Beavers, Jr.; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, After more than 73 years of providing his family, | ||||||
| 14 | friends, and community the gift of his love and optimistic | ||||||
| 15 | approach to life, James Beavers entered his eternal life on | ||||||
| 16 | October 5, 2010; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 18 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
| 19 | his family and friends, the passing of James Beavers; and be it | ||||||
| 20 | further

| 1 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 2 | presented to the family of James Beavers as a sign of the | ||||||
| 3 | State's high regard for his faithful service to his family and | ||||||
| 4 | community.
