2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Raymond Tarsor Tucker of North Chicago, |
4 | | who passed away on September 30, 2010; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Raymond Tucker was born in West Columbia, South |
6 | | Carolina on March 13, 1939, to Margaret A. Tucker and Haywood |
7 | | L. Suber; he married Sandra L. Tucker in Norfolk, Virginia over |
8 | | 45 years ago; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, He enlisted in the United States Navy on July 9, |
10 | | 1957, where he served continuously until his retirement as a |
11 | | Master Chief Petty Officer in December of 1986; he then was |
12 | | employed by the United States Navy as a Transportations |
13 | | Specialist Supervisor and retired as Director of |
14 | | Transportation in December of 2008; and he was a commissioner |
15 | | of the North Chicago Housing Authority; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, He was a reading power luncheon supporter; he was |
17 | | past commander of the American Legion, Sharvin Post Number 397; |
18 | | he was also a member of Turner AME Church in Columbia, South |
19 | | Carolina, and regularly attended Trinity AME Church in |
20 | | Waukegan; and |
21 | | WHEREAS, He was Administrative Assistant to the Grand |

7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
8 | | his family and friends, the passing of Raymond Tucker; and be |
9 | | it further

10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
11 | | presented to the family of Raymond Tucker as a symbol of our |
12 | | sincere sympathy.
