| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Clinton F. Kimbro of Hillsboro, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 24, 2010; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Clinton F. Kimbro was born on September 25, 1924 |
| 6 | | in Taylor Springs; his parents were George R. and Mary A. |
| 7 | | (Elmore) Kimbro, who both preceded him in death; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, He served the community for 35 years with local |
| 9 | | delivery of petroleum and served as Montgomery County Clerk for |
| 10 | | 16 years; he retired in late 1998; he graduated from Hillsboro |
| 11 | | High School, class of 1941; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in |
| 13 | | Hillsboro, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #51 AF & AM in Hillsboro, |
| 14 | | V.F.W. Post #1306 in Taylor Springs, and Hillsboro Moose Lodge |
| 15 | | #1377; he was a veteran of World War II with the Army Air Corp |
| 16 | | from 1943 to 1945; he was a B17 gunner who served in Normandy, |
| 17 | | Northern France Ardennes, Rhineland; he earned 4 Bronze Stars, |
| 18 | | a Good Conduct Air Medal, 3 Bronze Clusters, and 1 0/s Bar; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, He married Vivian M. Havron on July 14, 1946 at |
| 20 | | the Presbyterian parsonage in Hillsboro; she preceded him in |
| 21 | | death on October 7, 1990; his son, Robert L. Kimbro, preceded |
