SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jane E. Murphy Pease of Litchfield, who
4passed away on September 14, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born December 21, 1955, at Clinton, the
6daughter of James Melvin and Bette Louise (Lebeter) Murphy; she
7was raised in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High
8School in 1974; in 1973, she married Gary G. Pieper at
9Litchfield; and
 
10    WHEREAS, They moved to California in 1984 when her husband
11starting working with the Grateful Dead; while in California
12she was able to follow her dream of being around the music she
13loved; while living in San Francisco, she had a variety of
14jobs, from being a foot messenger to working at a screen
15printing shop; they later divorced and she married Lawrence
16"Huck" Pease in 1992; when they separated, she moved to
17Brookings, Oregon in 1997; and
 
18    WHEREAS, In Oregon she worked as a commercial fisherwoman
19and obtained her captain's license; she later worked for
20Cattleman's Company, where she travelled around to forest fires
21in the northwest and catered food for the firemen at different
22base camps; she moved back to Litchfield in 2004 and worked for

1the Illinois Economic Development Corporation as a supervisor
2for the rest area on Interstate 55; she was a member of the
3Women of the Moose Chapter 581 in Litchfield; and
 
4    WHEREAS, She was an election judge for the National
5Democratic Party and often volunteered working with those
6dealing with homelessness; Mrs. Pease enjoyed music, writing,
7and art and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco
849ers fan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and her
10brothers, Jack and Michael Murphy; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jane Murphy Pease is survived by her son, Matthew
12J. (wife, Anya) Pieper; her daughter, Jenifer L. (husband,
13George) Markulakis; her sister, Julie Hendrickson; and her
14three grandchildren, Alex Horn, and Brandon and Jenna White;
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
18her family and friends, the passing of Jane E. Murphy Pease;
19and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Jane E. Murphy Pease as a symbol of
