| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Jane E. Murphy Pease of Litchfield, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 14, 2010; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, She was born December 21, 1955, at Clinton, the | ||||||
6 | daughter of James Melvin and Bette Louise (Lebeter) Murphy; she | ||||||
7 | was raised in Litchfield and graduated from Litchfield High | ||||||
8 | School in 1974; in 1973, she married Gary G. Pieper at | ||||||
9 | Litchfield; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, They moved to California in 1984 when her husband | ||||||
11 | starting working with the Grateful Dead; while in California | ||||||
12 | she was able to follow her dream of being around the music she | ||||||
13 | loved; while living in San Francisco, she had a variety of | ||||||
14 | jobs, from being a foot messenger to working at a screen | ||||||
15 | printing shop; they later divorced and she married Lawrence | ||||||
16 | "Huck" Pease in 1992; when they separated, she moved to | ||||||
17 | Brookings, Oregon in 1997; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, In Oregon she worked as a commercial fisherwoman | ||||||
19 | and obtained her captain's license; she later worked for | ||||||
20 | Cattleman's Company, where she travelled around to forest fires | ||||||
21 | in the northwest and catered food for the firemen at different | ||||||
22 | base camps; she moved back to Litchfield in 2004 and worked for |

1 | the Illinois Economic Development Corporation as a supervisor | ||||||
2 | for the rest area on Interstate 55; she was a member of the | ||||||
3 | Women of the Moose Chapter 581 in Litchfield; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, She was an election judge for the National | ||||||
5 | Democratic Party and often volunteered working with those | ||||||
6 | dealing with homelessness;
Mrs. Pease enjoyed music, writing, | ||||||
7 | and art and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco | ||||||
8 | 49ers fan; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and her | ||||||
10 | brothers, Jack and Michael Murphy; and | ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jane Murphy Pease is survived by her son, Matthew | ||||||
12 | J. (wife, Anya) Pieper; her daughter, Jenifer L. (husband, | ||||||
13 | George) Markulakis; her sister, Julie Hendrickson; and her | ||||||
14 | three grandchildren, Alex Horn, and Brandon and Jenna White; | ||||||
15 | therefore, be it

16 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | ||||||
17 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
18 | her family and friends, the passing of Jane E. Murphy Pease; | ||||||
19 | and be it further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Jane E. Murphy Pease as a symbol of |
