SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Geraldine "Gerald" Williams of North 
4Chicago, who passed away on October 27, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, She was born on September 27, 1954 in Clarksdale, 
6Mississippi; she attended Novak Elementary School and North  
7Chicago High School; she received her Bachelor's degree from 
8National University and her Master's degree in Education from 
9Xavier University; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, She was a first grade teacher for 34 years at 
11Forrestal Elementary School in North Chicago; she was a 
12faithful member of Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 
13where she was a choir member, taught Sunday School, was the 
14YWMA Mission Leader, and held the position of church secretary 
15for many years; and
  
 
  
16    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, mother, 
17and brother; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Geraldine Williams is survived by her sisters, 
19Barbara and Flora; her brother, Henry; her brother-in-law, 
20Homer; her nephew, Donnell; as well as many cousins and 
21friends; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3her family and friends, the passing of Geraldine Williams; and 
4be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Geraldine Williams as a symbol of 
7our sincere sympathy.
